Organize Photos Software Reviews

In a Washington Post article by Preston Gralla of PC World, a review of Photozig Albums Express reports it is an excellent way to organize, view, manage, and edit your photo by creating photo albums out of them.

Once you have them organized, you can play a slideshow of each album, upload an album to a Web site, and send an album via e-mail. You’ll also be able to use the program to send the photos via e-mail, copy photos to a CD, copy them to a memory card or create a screensaver from them.

Photozig Albums Express also includes some very solid photo-editing tools for cropping, fixing red eye, and changing the brightness and contrast. There’s also a one-click Quick Fix feature that will automatically clean up photos for you.

According to the review, it says that creating an album is quite easy. The free version of Photozig Albums is a stripped-down version of for-pay software that includes both Deluxe and Premium editions. This free Express version has some limitations.

In another Washington Post article, Gralla reviews Cpicture which organizes and handles digital photographs and creates HTML pages of photos.

This $20 tool for digital photographs offers some nifty tools, but it won’t be for everyone. CPicture’s somewhat clunky interface and the fact that you can get powerful photography software for free means that most people will most likely not want to pay for it. It’s worth trying, but you may well not end up buying.

On the plus side, CPicture is small and requires virtually no installation. Just double-click a single file and the program runs. It certainly has a full set of features, doing everything from cleaning up red eye to creating an HTML page of your photos, enhancing picture quality, and even scanning your PC for broken jpeg files and then fixing them.

I found a few other reviews for organizing photos (there seem to be a lot of them!):
